horse GO AHEAD FOR BHS KAWASAKI HUNTER TRIALS

The BHS Kawasaki Hunter Trials, on hold because of FMD, are to go ahead now, with the first competition to be held on Sunday 10 June at Moreton Stables in Dorset.

This venue has been chosen for the first qualifier because it is situated on arable land with no livestock, and as they have been holding events there for several weeks now, they are familiar with the precautionary measures that need to be taken. There have been no cases of foot and mouth in Dorset.

Main event sponsor Kawasaki Commercial Products, who have supported the postponement of the qualifiers during the outbreak of FMD, are delighted to support the go ahead. “We are satisfied that the BHS has done a thorough risk assessment and will be responding to MAFF and BEF guidelines, and that the event poses absolutely no danger of spreading foot and mouth” said Jack Ford, Sales & Marketing Manager for Kawasaki Commercial Products. “We are delighted that the Kawasaki BHS Hunter Trial series can now go ahead, and we look forward to an exciting series of competitions.”

Kay Driver, new BHS Chief Executive, said: “The BHS Hunter Trials have proved hugely successful with grass roots riders, and now with sponsors Kawasaki Commercial Products on board, this season looks set to be a winner. Entries are coming in already.”

Because so many of the qualifiers have had to be postponed, the Final has been put back, and will now take place at Offchurch Bury in Warwickshire on 8 and 9 September.
