2003 Torchbearer Grant Applications Available

In its inaugural year of providing direct financial support to America’s equestrian athletes through its Torchbearer Grant Program, USA Equestrian awarded more than $120,000 to athletes and the organizations that support them.

The 2003 Torchbearer Grant Guidelines and Application have been revised to better serve the competitive needs of America’s equestrian athletes. Effective immediately, a printable version of the 2003 Torchbearer Grant Guidelines & Application is available on USA Equestrian’s website at www.equestrian.org/development/ or by contacting USA Equestrian’s Assistant Executive Director of Development, Kevin Burns, at 630-845-8240 or via e-mail at kburns@equestrian.org.

USA Equestrian Torchbearer Grants are awarded based on financial need of the applicant and to members in good standing. USA Equestrian’s ability to provide Torchbearer Grants is based on available resources and the generosity of those who support the Federation through philanthropic gifts.

USA Equestrian Inc., as the National Equestrian Federation of the U.S., is the regulatory body for the Olympic and World Championship sports of dressage, driving, endurance, eventing, reining, show jumping, and vaulting, as well as 19 other breeds and disciplines of equestrian competition. As
the country's largest multi-breed organization, the Federation has over 80,000 members and recognizes more than 2,800 competitions nationwide each year. It governs all aspects of competition, including educating and licensing all judges, stewards, and technical delegates who officiate at these shows.
VISION STATEMENT
The vision of USA Equestrian is to provide leadership for equestrian sport in the United States of America, promoting the pursuit of excellence from the grass roots to the Olympic Games, based on a foundation of fair, safe competition and the welfare of its horses, and embracing this vision, to be the best national equestrian federation in the world.
