FOOT AND MOUTH TAKES CENTRE STAGE AT NFU FARM TAX SEMINARS

Top agricultural taxation experts will be speaking at a series of nine farm tax seminars organised by NFU Services, in association with NFU Mutual Finance.

Aimed at professional advisers, the seminar will feature experts from Promar International and will look at updates on all aspects of farm tax as well as the impact of foot and mouth disease.

NFU Professional Manager Annabel Goodwin said: "The half-day seminars have been designed to give professional advisers to the agricultural industry the most recent updates and changes to taxation issues affecting farming. They will focus on capital gains, inheritance tax planning, VAT and much more.

"Promar will also discuss the impact of foot and mouth disease, looking at the tax implications of compulsory slaughter of animals, leaving the industry and diversifying."

The nine seminars around England and Wales are aimed at accountants, tax specialists, land agents, loss adjusters and other agricultural consultants. The first seminar takes place at the NFU's London headquarters on May 8.

Mrs Goodwin added: "Because of the complex nature of taxation in agriculture and the changing nature of the industry, there will be ample opportunity to seek answers to individual issues through-out the seminar, with the speakers and NFU experts."
