A new scheme means that more than 700 livery yard owners insuring their businesses through South Essex Insurance Brokers can cut down the cost of their crucial public liability insurance, while their clients can reduce their horse or pony insurance.

Each establishment is being issued with vouchers, which will entitle clients insuring for the first time through South Essex to a £10 discount on their premiums - and each new policy will mean another £10 off the yard owner's next public liability renewal.

"Public liability cover is an essential cost which, through no fault of ours, has increased in recent months," said equestrian marketing manager Nicolina MacKenzie. "The voucher scheme we have just introduced is our way of helping owners keep their premiums down while helping and encouraging their clients."
