Shutterfly with Meredith Beerbaum Win the $75,000 Tommy Bahama Florida Open

Wellington, FL – March 2, 2003 – Thirty six horses competed in the $75,000 Tommy Bahama Florida Open at the Winter Equestrian Festival. This important competition was a qualifier for the World Cup Final which will be held this April in Las Vegas, NV. Seven horses qualified to return for the jump-off on the course designed by Prof. Arno Gego of Germany. And, Meredith Beerbaum, a rider representing Germany, won the class in the fastest time, with Shutterfly. Shutterfly a dark brown Hanoverian bred is owned by Hyperion Farm.

Three horses had clean jump-off rounds. Onyx 66 with McLain Ward up was placed second. Onyx 66 is owned by Harry Gill and McLain Ward. Third place went to Caliskan with Candice King riding for Louisburg Farm LLC. In fourth place, was Quriel and Norman Dello Joio – this pair won last weeks $75,000 Zada Enterprises Wellington Masters Grand Prix. Quriel is owned by Belknap & Weight.

There was a 3-way tie for High Junior Jumper Champion between Just Dreamin’ with Paige Johnson, Milos II with Alison Flury, and Orlandia with Cody Baird.

Medium Amateur Jumper Champion also had a 3-way tie between Camerino with Jessica Siuda, Chablis 79 with Caroline Dayton, and Cavalier with Danielle Toano.

In the Hunter Arenas, Meghan Moran was Amateur Owner Hunter Champion 18-35 with In Return. Lyrical with Mary Jane King was Champion in the Amateur Owner Hunter 36 and Over.

In the Green Pony Hunters, the Small/Medium Champion was Just Press Play with Molly Sullivan riding for Emma Butchard. Large Green Hunter Pony Champion was Beau Rivage with owner/rider Katie Cassetta.

Tickets to the Winter Equestrian Festival are available by phone at 793-JUMP or at the gate. Admission is free on Wednesdays. Children 12 & under are free all days. Senior admission is $5 every day. Adult admission is $5 on Thursday and Friday, $10 on Saturday, and $15 on Sunday. Parking is free.
