March 12, 2002--USA Equestrian has identified four team selection trials for American vaulters who hope to compete at the fourth World Equestrian Games (WEG) to be held in Jerez, Spain from September 11-22, 2002.

The first of the four team selection trials will be held on May 5th at Flying Cloud Farm in Petaluma, CA. Vaulting teams must earn a minimum of three scores of 7.0 or higher during the selection period. Vaulting teams will need to attend a minimum of two of the selection trials. A third score can be obtained at any USA Equestrian recognized vaulting competition or CVI held before June 9, 2002.

The additional team selection trials will be held on May 18th at The Garrod Farms in Saratoga, CA; May 21st at Portola Valley Training Center in Menlo Park, CA; and June 1-2 at Equestrian Performance Center, Moorpark, CA.

Three individual female vaulters, three individual male vaulters and one team will be selected by the USA Equestrian Vaulting Committee with the approval of USA Equestrian. One alternate female and one alternate male vaulter will also be selected by the committee.

Please visit our website at www.americanvaulting.org for more information about vaulting. The American Vaulting Association is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) educational organization dedicated to the promotion of Vaulting, an equestrian sport in which vaulters perform gymnastic and dance movements in harmony with their equine partner.
