On national television every Fall season for the past eight years, a prancing white horse has been seen circling the field at the old "Mile High" Stadium when ever the Denver Broncos scored a touchdown. Known as Rocky Mountain Thunder, this 18 year old Arabian stallion stands 15.2 hands high at the withers, and is a son of GG Jabask, out of the mare Kom-Nitah. Trained by Tom Hudson of California and ridden by Ann Wegener of Bennett, CO, Thunder is owned by Sharon Magness, Magness Racing Ventures, Inc. of Evergreen, CO

Enjoying his celebrity status, Thunder has been the Denver Bronco's Mascot since 1993, attended two Super Bowls, and is just about the busiest horse around! Besides enthusiastically performing his mascot duties at each Denver Bronco home game, Thunder makes many appearances at local events. He has appeared as part of the color guard presentation at the National Western Stock Show, The Colorado Chapter of the Volunteers of America's annual Western Fantasy, the Rocky Mountain Children's Law Center Champions for Children Dinner, Up With People's Celebration of Peace Banquet and the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame / John Elway Retirement Dinner.

Thunder has spent time with numerous children at Denver's Children's Hospital, Ocean Journey and various local schools. He has hosted many unforgettable Halloween and Christmas parties for children in our community, and has his own foundation that benefits many children's charities.

Through all of these events, Thunder has performed with his characteristic grace and style, braving crowds of thousands in all kinds of weather and travelling countless miles. He's ridden in elevators, been in tunnels, up and down ramps, inside ballrooms, hotels, arenas and stadiums - all in the line of duty - performing like the true professional that he is.

Rocky Mountain Thunder assures the Expo Committee that he is chomping at the bit to circle the new Bronco's stadium as well as attend another Super Bowl. So it is with great privilege and honor that the 2001 RMHE Steering Committee recognizes Rocky Mountain Thunder, not only for his accomplishments as a high profile sports celebrity, but his contributions to the community, the horse industry and the Arabian breed.
