Jeanette Brakewell To Help Burnham Market Reach New Heights

Olympic team Silver Medallist and double European team Gold Medallist Jeanette Brakewell has agreed to support Burnham Market International Horse Trials as it prepares a new advanced course in its endeavours to become the premier pre-Badminton competition.

Jeanette, from Dereham in Norfolk, is amongst the many world class event riders who have already discovered the advantages of the Burnham Market events:

"The course is so well drained that cancellation is unlikely - even in the wettest weather the going is excellent," said Jeanette. "The current cross country element is well-built and enjoyable to ride and walk, the show jumping ring is situated in a natural amphitheater and the dressage arena is not far away from the action."

Jeanette welcomes the news that Burnham Market has taken the decision to construct a new cross-country course for Advanced level competition. "So many Advanced events have been lost for various reasons so the news that a permanent new fixture will be added to the calendar in that vital pre-Badminton slot is fantastic, especially as it's Norfolk!" she said.

"The new course, which will be launched in 2003, will make this the most exciting sporting event in Norfolk and I am delighted to have been asked to lend my support. I am sure that most of the top class riders and horses will be competing."

Burnham Market is currently seeking corporate sponsorship for its two events, in Spring and Autumn for the next three years. Anyone interested in further information should contact Lucy Boulton on 01283 821012.
