Equestrian Officers Elected

New
USA Equestrian officers were elected January 16, during the Annual
Meeting held January 15-19, in Lexington, KY.
Alan
F. Balch was re-elected to a final two-year term as President.
Olympian David J. O'Connor of The Plains, VA, was elected as Vice
President, Judith F. Werner of Waterloo, IL, will serve as Secretary
and Kathy Knill Meyer of Edwards, CO, as Treasurer. Olympian Carol
C. Lavell of Loxahatchee, FL, will serve as Assistant Secretary
and Stephen O. Hawkins of Ho Ho Kus, NJ, as Assistant Treasurer.
These officers will serve until 2005.

Equestrian Inc., as the National Equestrian Federation of the
U.S., is the regulatory body for the Olympic and World Championship
sports of dressage, driving, endurance, eventing, reining, show
jumping, and vaulting, as well as 19 other breeds and disciplines
of equestrian competition. As
the country's largest multi-breed organization, the Federation
has over 80,000 members and recognizes more than 2,800 competitions
nationwide each year. It governs all aspects of competition, including
educating and licensing all judges, stewards, and technical delegates
who officiate at these shows.
