Gold Coast, Queensland – Magic Millions and Brisbane streaming media company QuickStream have teamed up to allow Internet users around the world to access first ever video previews of horses offered in the prestigious Sales.

In addition to the previews and fully integrated on-line sale catalog, all the action from the 2001 Sales will be broadcast Live to a world wide audience from the Magic Millions Web Site http://www.magicmillions.com.au

The live broadcast will offer individuals interested in Australia’s premier Yearling Sale the opportunity to view the lots anywhere in the world as the sales unfold. By logging on the viewer will be able to see:

• video previews of selected horses prior to the sale; and
• the live sale ring, including auction progress and sale price; and
• other aspects of the week long carnival such as scenes from the Gold Coast Turf Day for Queenslands richest race day – Conrad Jupiters Magic Millions.

International interest in the broadcast is expected to eclipse the Australian connection percentages, making the Magic Millions truly a worldwide event.

The Program

From December 21, the entire sale catalog will be available on-line and is fully searchable by bloodline, vendor and many other options. The Live Sale broadcast will start from Thursday 11th January at 12noon. A one-hour commentary will precede each sales session.

For the Gerry Harvey, John Singleton and Rob Ferguson led Magic Millions, the move to have the auction seen over the Internet and using QuickStream Australia puts them in the status of being a true international auction house.

The video stream of the sale will be sent from the Magic Millions through ISDN lines to high capacity servers with direct Internet connectivity. From these servers, the stream will be broadcast using Microsoft Windows Media Technologies to users worldwide.
